Active ingredient
A common name for this plant is gum Arabic. It is native to semi-desert regions in Africa, Pakistan, and northwestern India. The plant only produces the gum under poor conditions such as poor soil or drought and more interesting is that the more damaged trees produce more gum. Sudan is most abundant in harvest of acacia gum. It soothes the skin in a long-lasting way and is widely used in biotechnology called "vegetable collagen".
